The impact of climate change is one of the major topics for TSSBE to focus. With the help of TSSBE, there are six members taking the research based project to analyze the Urban Heat Island and its influence on climate situation.

The TSSBE, member Joseph, Li Yen-yi and colleagues took the leadership to promote the first middle capacity solar community in Kaohsiung. The promotion was conducted three solar communities in Kaohsiung for both private apartment and neighbor-park. The TSSBE members helped to establish the system and evaluate the best performance in a 328-unit apartment.

The TSSBE members, including seven board members, were the team group to help the Ministry of Education to promote the new stage for Sustainable Campus Project as new trend "Low-Carbon, Disaster Prevention and Ecological Cycle Efficiency". There were 68 schools to
join the project and to adopt new concept and technology toward more sustainable campus.

The TSSBE members also had been invited to submit and present the new research results and exchange the idea and experience in Taiwan and the same concept of the SBTools.
The Innovative Actions on Global Urbanized-Regions under the Crisis of Violent Climate:
The 2009 International Forum on Kaohsiung Ecocity and Sustainable Building Environment - This Forum invite six countries keynote speakers from urban to building technology. During the 8th August 2009, a natural disaster, “Moralok Typhoon”, hit the land and caused large amount destroyed zone. Under the circumstance of the threats for ordinary life, the public sector should prepare for the next impact from the climate. Therefore, Kaohsiung City Government held an international Forum on Kaohsiung Ecocity and Sustainable Building Environment on 2 Nov. 2009. The objective of the forum is to exchange the experience form the global issues to local company and try to make the perspectives in exchanging the solutions or technologies in different countries. The keynote speakers and the discussants are from varied fields. The first speaker is Mr. Lin, Chiun-Sin, who is the President of Archilife Research Foundation and the Committee Member of National Sustainable Development Committee to talk about the topic as “Effective Thoughts on Regional Development Management in Sub-tropical Region under the 100,000 year Climate Disaster”. The TTSBE is also one of the main hosts to express the sustainable concepts to the participants. The results also directly conduct the City Government to promote a holistic strategy to construct the Eco-Kaohsiung.
The Action Plan Project to the solutions of Urban Heat Island Effect Reduction –
This Project is one of the TSSBE group to take more focus on the scientific based solutions to real city: Kaohsiung. The study starts from July 2009 to March 2010, and it also takes two communities to make the renovation for a better cooling city model in two years.
